Collectors are rushing to buy retro video games including old nintendo and playstation games following a surge in value. It means thousands could be sitting on a gaming fortune and may not even realise it. In august the most expensive video game in history was sold for a whopping $2 million - an unopened copy of classic video game super mario bros for the nes, released back in 1985. Sealed copies of super mario 64 (released in the 90s) and the legend of zelda sold for $1. 5million and $870,000 respectively. Auction houses have been getting involved more with the vintage game market, selling classic games for thousands, if not millions.
